An attractive Thourioi stater with a fine pedigree

LUCANIA. Thourioi. Circa 443-400 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 7.82 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Attic helmet decorated with an olive branch. Rev. ΘΟΥΡΙΩN Bull butting to right; in exergue, fish to right. HN III 1775. SNG ANS 906 (same dies). A nicely toned and very well centered example. Die break on the reverse and with very light roughness, otherwise, good very fine.
